National ID cards and your candidate?

“This REAL ID Act establishes a massive, centrally-coordinated database of highly personal information about American citizens: at a minimum their name, date of birth, place of residence, Social Security number, and physical characteristics. The legislation also grants open-ended authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to require biometric information on IDs in the future. This means your harmless looking driver’s license could contain a retina scan, fingerprints, DNA information, or radio frequency technology”

“Read the REAL ID Act, HR 418, for yourself. Its text is available on the Library of Congress website. A careful reading also reveals that states will be required to participate in the “Drivers License Agreement,” which was crafted by DMV lobbyists years ago. This agreement creates a massive database of sensitive information on American citizens that can be shared with Canada and Mexico!”

“One overriding point has been forgotten: Criminals don’t obey laws! As with gun control, national ID cards will only affect law-abiding citizens. Do we really believe a terrorist bent on murder is going to dutifully obtain a federal ID card? Do we believe that people who openly flout our immigration laws will nonetheless respect our ID requirements? Any ID card can be forged; any federal agency or state DMV is susceptible to corruption. Criminals can and will obtain national ID cards, or operate without them. National ID cards will be used to track the law-abiding masses, not criminals”

National ID cards and your candidate?
Ron Paul, he's against national ID cards.
Reply:Ron Paul did not support this legislation. As I recall he was practically alone. And I agree with your analogy with gun control; criminals don't obey laws, they are only useful to keep US under control.
Reply:my candidates might be Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinitch and I haven't checked to see if they support this nazi llegislation. I'm quite sure they don't. BIG BROTHER'S at the front door. This information is none of the govts. or anyone elses business. I believe Bush has had and will have a monstrous impact on peoples thinking by letting them know through the Patriot act that our rights and freedoms are dispensible any time congress and the white House wish. We might ask an even more important question which is how do we put an immediate stop to this horrendos trend. Thank GEorgey the piglover for this little gift which he will, I hope have in his evil legacy. while I'm at it , Screw the No Child left Behind nonsense too. CONGRATULATIONS on thi , most important question jessisbeautiful,
Reply:That sounds like a terrific idea!!! I am all for it, and i think we should require people to have these ID chips implanted in their body so there is no chance the card can be lost and used for identity theft.
Reply:What a horrific idea.

Goerge Orwell here we come!
Reply:We don't need a national id card. A driver's license and a Passport are enough. Stop the National ID card because it will be used for other purposes than id!! Mitt Romney is against the id card, isn't he?
Reply:Has anybody seen Minority Report? Please watch that because that is where America is going. In the movie the only way you could hide or seal your identity was to remove your eyes. The Patriot Act is only a beginning to where this country is trying to go on controlling your personal life. The better and more convenient technology becomes the worse I Freedom becomes. Everybody has a tracking device on them now its call a cell phone!
