good question. even if you give it to someone else, it still has your picture on it.
Reply:Because they don't want the person to give their ID to someone else to use once it expires. If my ID expires, they don't want me to give it to a friends since I have a new one. It prevents people from using other IDs. After all, I am a lot less likely to give up my only (valid) ID, than I am to give someone my expired ID.
Reply:There are lots of barmaids I would cheerfully allow to stamp MY card!
