Who actually thinks that ID cards will reduce illegal immigration?

Good question sir.. I believe it will provide tighter control on entry and exist of legal border crossing only. By definition, illegal immigration occurs by illegal pessage ways. The ID cards don't apply to illegal pessage ways..right ? If someone from Mexico and Canada is datermined to cross the broder from a dark ally, they still will, ragardless of the use of an ID card at the legal crossings i.e. a border. The two issues are totally separate.

Who actually thinks that ID cards will reduce illegal immigration?
It will slow it down for a little while until they figure out how to make good fake ones just like they do now with the Green cards
Reply:stamp their foreheads lol jk
Reply:Where you ID cards you have fake ID'S
Reply:No, I don't believe it will. Illegal immigration will continue and employers will continue to hire them until/unless the government gets firm and consistent with charging and prosecuting the employers who hire illegals.
Reply:Nobody in his/her real mind. It is just a way to make money.
Reply:The cards are supposedly tamper-proof, but I still don't like it. Does that mean EVERYONE has to have an ID card? Do we have to carry them all the time and show them to any authority figure that wants to see them? Does this sound like Nazi Germany to you?
Reply:All previous state and government issue ID cards are "tamper proof" but I have seen military id, drivers license, state id, and social security cards all faked. ID cards for illegals are just a waste of our tax money and they will be another source for fake IDs.
Reply:No, this plan will not work. The illegals already steal social security numbers and identities, ruining innocent people's lives while the pro illegal crowd makes excuses for them.
Reply:I do. They will have biometric information such as fingerprints that can be run through the ICE database to say if the person is here legally.

It won't be perfect, but they will be hard to forge and employers will have fewer excuses.

Nothing will STOP illegal immigration, but our country hasn't even tried to lately. If there is enforcement and border security, it will at least slow the flow.
Reply:They taking this caste hatred too far. In any case, i only hope they,ve carefully considered the enormous gain they are making from makung people populate their land that would have otherwise be begging for visitor.
Reply:No. It's a smarmy proposition. Doesn't anyone remember getting fake I.D.'s to get into clubs when you were underage? Seriously.....however, it will bring money into the economy! Someone has to make those fake documents. LOL
Reply:I think the plan would never work
Reply:The end of the day it all depends on what information is going to be stored, how that information is going to be used, and who has access to it? In my opinion its a white elephant waiting to happen, it expensive to set up and would be even more expensive to police. There must be a better alternative I personally think setting up a independent Immigration Service away from the Home Office would be a better alternative and give them policing powers so they can do the job properly too?
