Id cards and driver licenses?
no you can have both at the same time drivers liscence works for both but ID only works for ID
Reply:You can get an ID card, but when you get a licence, the state will be sending you your Drivers Licence in the mail because there's a difference in the two cards.
Reply:Hello,

I think in most of the fifty United States, the age requirement for having a driver's license is sixteen (16 years). But this may also vary in some states to eighteen (18 years) or more.

However, when someone who qualifies get a driver's license, it is only valid in that specific state for driving purposes.

But it can also be an identity card for a US citizen travelling in any one of the fifty United States.

If you intend to cross the US borders into another country, that would require a passport, permit, or some form of VISA (or permission) to enter that country!

Reply:you dont have to wait for the card to expire but when you get your drivers license they'll take your Id card because you have a new form of ID (your drivers license) and they think if you have both you'll edit one to make yourself 21 or something..
Reply:You can apply for the license whenever you want. Your ID card will be void as soon as you get the license in your hand (they may or may not ask you to turn it in, but the magnetic strip will stop working).
