Why would a National ID Card be Bad?

It seems like a lot of people are freaked out over the possibility of a national ID card. Don't we already have ID cards, like our driver's license, passport, etc? What is so "nazi" about it?

Why would a National ID Card be Bad?
I'm all for it. It would be nice to know where you live, what your phone number is, where you work, what you drive, where you drive, how much money you make, how you spend it, what your medical issues are, what kind of pension plan you have, where you bank, what credit cards you have, how you use them, where you buy your food, gas, etc.

All that at the touch of a computer key. None of the pesky searches through secured data bases since everything is keyed to the ID card. And just think of all the extra money I can make by selling your data to various people. Hey, maybe I can even be the ominous voice of "Big Brother" telling you, "I know who you are, where you are, and what you are doing."
Reply:If you need to ask this question then you might as well start lining up with the rest of the sheep and do what the government tells you to do because the government is your friend, they are looking out for your best interests all the time.

I'll tell you what, you email me all your personal and most private info. I promise to keep it securely locked up and I will only use it for my own purposes when I need it. I promise I won't sell your personal info to mass marketers, big companies, or other shady characters. Should I go on??...
