Anyone know of another country in the free world that uses ID cards and how does it work for them?

Sweden does ... a passport is not considered sufficient proof of identity ...you have to have an ID card ... and it works wonders!
Reply:singapore uses id card, it is compulsory at 12 years old onwards
Reply:UK has national ID cards. Works for their purposes. But their government is substantially more centralized than in the US and they have a small population and land area to implement such a program.

Reply:Yes Germany uses id cards their problem is the Turks and no it does not work every body started to come over and the german citizen pays out the a== for you know who. we have plenty of people on welfare make them take these jobs .so i say KEEP OUT
