Mexican ID cards for diplomat bodyguards made of embossed metal with the face of ID holder engraved on it.?

What can you tell me about this?

I went down to Mexico to do body guarding work for a client. One of the other bodyguards had one of these badges/ID cards. Whenever he showed this badge to a police officer or any military officer he was instantly treated like a VIP and was allowed to go anywhere without him or anybody with him being searched or questioned.

Did it have colored enamel, as well, in a leather wallet? If so, it sounds like the official government identity card - not a badge, per se, but no less commanding of attention (of course, everything is available for a price, so even if the body guard did not have any official status, he would be seen as someone who had powerful enough connections).
Reply:sounds like he had some pretty hefty contacts within the govn to me. never heard of it myself.
