Is there an official, recognised, photographic ID card to use in the UK? I don't have a driving licence.?

I don't want to have to carry my passport around with me and you often need photographic ID for large payments or other transactions. Most people have a driving licence but what about those who don't drive or are disabled? I need a card that is recognised in banks, shops, etc. What can I use?

The PASS scheme of cards are the only recognised cards available.
Reply:you can get a disabled badge or id cards that are coming into use
Reply:yes there is a card it is called a pass port
Reply:Go into your local Post Office and get an application form for whats called a 'citizenship card'. This is a small card with your photo id on it and is easy to carry around its a bit like the size of a credit card. When you send it of you usually get it back quite quickly and i think there is a fee but it isnt much. Hope that helps.
Reply:CitizenCard is government-approved and PASS accredited.
