Can you have both a id card and a drivers license in the state of alaska? I heard it may be illegal ?

I heard folks saying that it's illegal to have an ID and a driver license in the state of Alaska. Anyone know any DMV statement on this? I have seen this for several states but not Alaska.

DRIVING LICENCE IS NEEED FOR DRIVING AND NOT AN ID CARD.ID CARD IS REQUIRED FOR MANY OCCASIONS TO PROVE YOUR IDENTITY.

YOU HAVE ANY THING WITH YOU NONE TO OBJECT?

YOU CAN MOVE ABOUT TO OTHER STATES AS YOU MAY GETTHE DETAILS BE ENTERED THERE FOR USAGE THERE.WHAT IS THE FUN OF NOT ALOWING TO GO TO OTHER STATES.
Reply:It not Illegal per say, there both the same thing 'cept one grants permission to operate a vehicle on state roadways. It gets touchy because there are laws both state and national stating that you MAY NOT be in possession of more than one form of government issued ID, legally the DMV should have revoked your state ID card on the spot...But if the info is the same then you should not have a problem getting caught with them... the problem starts with the info being different whether it be hair color or 2 id with different addresses. then some LAW officer can push on you for "impersonating" charges and a whole list of problems but it is the DMV's fault for not revoking your state ID
Reply:The simple answer is yes! You may hold both items legally.
