I have an ID card and I'm trying to break the magnetic strip.
How do you break a magnetic strip on an ID card?
cut it in half...like they do when you get your license renewed......
Reply:Not sure why you'd want to do that, but you could use a exacto knife to cut it. If you just want to make it useless, get one of those business card sized fridge magnets and hang your card up on the fridge for the night.
Reply:try boltcutters, or a big heavy duty pair of scissors.
Reply:if you jus want it to not work, then rub a magnet all over it.
Reply:Just use some scissors to cut it up into lots of little pieces, throw half of them away in one bin, and the other half in another. If you're really concerned use a magnet to demagnetize the strip. It won't take an extremely strong magnet, just rub it along the strip.
