National ID cards and your candidate?

“This REAL ID Act establishes a massive, centrally-coordinated database of highly personal information about American citizens: at a minimum their name, date of birth, place of residence, Social Security number, and physical characteristics. The legislation also grants open-ended authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to require biometric information on IDs in the future. This means your harmless looking driver’s license could contain a retina scan, fingerprints, DNA information, or radio frequency technology”

“Read the REAL ID Act, HR 418, for yourself. Its text is available on the Library of Congress website. A careful reading also reveals that states will be required to participate in the “Drivers License Agreement,” which was crafted by DMV lobbyists years ago. This agreement creates a massive database of sensitive information on American citizens that can be shared with Canada and Mexico!”

“One overriding point has been forgotten: Criminals don’t obey laws! As with gun control, national ID cards will only affect law-abiding citizens. Do we really believe a terrorist bent on murder is going to dutifully obtain a federal ID card? Do we believe that people who openly flout our immigration laws will nonetheless respect our ID requirements? Any ID card can be forged; any federal agency or state DMV is susceptible to corruption. Criminals can and will obtain national ID cards, or operate without them. National ID cards will be used to track the law-abiding masses, not criminals”

And this will cost the United States $23.1, billion dollars

National ID cards and your candidate?
The Real ID is an obvious infringement on our rights, as well as a glaring indication that the Federal government has become far too large, and needs to be stopped.

Those who believe that it is actually a good idea need to read up on what happens when any country's citizens allow their government to gain too much control over their lives - That government essentially becomes power hungry, and the erosion of rights does not stop until the populace wakes up and puts a stop to it.

It seems that, in our comfort, US citizens have forgotten this basic truth, and we are lending ourselves to the government's power grab, instead of checking it, as we should be doing.

Instead of dealing with the root of the issue, we have allowed our government to go on watering the weeds, while we play in the ever-shrinking "safe" area of the yard. The encroaching tangle of weeds will, with the government in control allied with our apathy, eventually crowd our movement, and restrict us to an area far too small for comfort. Let's not let it come to that before we realize what is happening.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty or safety..."

Reply:The whole ID card concept is a joke. I like the analogy of comparing to the gun control proposals. While I do think there are too many guns out there and that it's too easy to get more ( even an idiot like Cheney can have a gun to shoot his friends and hunt down small trapped birds! ) I am opposed to the total banning of guns. The same idea applies with the ID cards. It actually harms others than those it is truely targeted for. Besides, those who are ill-intended will not bother to try and get one. After all who cares about a fine when they are planning to plant a bomb or make a career of crime.....

Just another weak attempt at security that will end up taking away more of our privacy.

"If there are any terrorists in the room, please put your hand up!"
Reply:Ron Paul all the way. He seems to be the only chance we have. The sad thing is so many people are brainwashed and cant think for themselves they miss everything.
Reply:I don't think so Tim.

Ron Paul!
Reply:God Bless Ron Paul! Illegal immigrants have NO RIGHT to be in this country. No amnesty! No guest worker program! If you want to live in America, than come here LEGALLY, LEARN ENGLISH, RESPECT our customs and traditions, and play by the rules.
Reply:What will be the penalty for refusing to participate in the forced National ID card order? There will be millions who will refuse to cooperate, and this may be the catalyst needed to start the 2nd American Revolution. At some point, when the people awaken to the fact that their government does not represent their views, another course of action will happen, as so lucidly prescribed in the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE! Do American citizens have balls, courage, or fortitude?
Reply:HUMMMMMMM Idont KNOW big brother !!!! Whats in your wallet?
Reply:We live in a country, the only country I know of that has 20 million Illegal Mexican Aliens living within her borders.

Drastic situations call for drastic measures yet NO leader has had the Will to SECURE OUR SOUTHERN BORDERS.

The National ID flap? It's like spitting in the Pacific Ocean to hold back the tide.

Secure The Borders With The National Guard

Build A Fence

Drastic Fines for Employers Who Hire Illegals

Establish a Coherent Worker program so there is NO Chaos

at the borders as their is NOW!

Do that because it makes sense to 80% of America and it's what We The People Demand!

Will Ron Paul do that?
Reply:That's another reason I'm voting for Ron Paul!
Reply:Why exactly is it that you dislike the idea of a national ID card?

Are you a privacy freak that thinks big brother is going to be watching you at every turn? Are you an immigration activist that realizes a national ID card would end most employment of illegals? What type of person are you that you are opposed to this idea?

In all honesty its one of the best ideas I have heard in a long time. Additionally you would be required to show your ID to vote, so it pretty much does away with all voter fraud since a computer database will tell the polling location if you have already voted in another district.

I should also point out that your links are biased. One is a talk news show with a bunch of liberals on it. The other is Ron Paul who is flat out insane.

Oh and you claim that any ID can be forged. I want to see you forge the finger print and other biometric data the would be encrypted on the card. Unless you steal someones ID, you aren't going to get that info and when it comes back as no match. Then you're going to jail.
Reply:The National ID card is the least of my concerns and a minor issue - although this alone is enough for a dumb schmuck politician to pounce on it and milk it to no end.
